If you’re visiting London and dreaming of those iconic vacation photos that truly capture the city’s charm - think Big Ben, the London Eye, and those classic red phone boxes - Westminster is one of the best places for a photoshoot in London. This part of the city is home to some of London’s most recognizable landmarks, offering endless opportunities for timeless, postcard-worthy images. From the grand architecture of Parliament to the sweeping views over the River Thames, this route perfectly captures the essence of London.
Every corner here feels like stepping into a travel magazine - effortlessly photogenic, instantly recognizable, and filled with that unmistakable London buzz. Whether you’re here for a family holiday, a romantic getaway, or a solo adventure, this is one of my favourite routes for capturing beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.

I recently photographed Adriana, who was visiting London on a solo vacation. She booked a vacation photoshoot in London as a keepsake from her trip - something she could look back on and smile. From the moment we met, we got on so well; the conversation flowed easily, and within minutes, it felt like photographing an old friend. That’s one of my favourite parts of what I do - helping people relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera, especially when they’re travelling solo.
We explored around Big Ben, Westminster Bridge, and those iconic red phone boxes, before finishing up near the London Eye for some soft, romantic shots by the river. Alyssa had such great energy and a beautiful smile, and by the end of the session, she was completely in the groove — laughing, twirling, and fully enjoying the experience. The result was a lovely set of natural, relaxed portraits that really captured her joy and the magic of being in London.

Tips for a Photoshoot at Big Ben, London Eye & Westminster
Opening hours:
These are public spaces, so they’re open 24/7. The only exception being marathons and road closures, which mean these places are inaccessible.
Best time to shoot:
These spots get very busy, and crowds start forming from around 9am. If you’ve ever seen those dreamy Instagram photos with empty bridges and perfect light - they were taken early! Aim to start between 6am and 9am for the best lighting and minimal crowds. Shooting later in the morning or afternoon is still possible, but you’ll have lots of people in the background.
Travel tips:
By car: Traffic in Westminster can be heavy, especially during rush hour. It’s worth considering whether an Uber or taxi is practical, as sometimes the tube is faster.
By public transport: Westminster Station is the most convenient - it’s on the Circle, District, and Jubilee lines and just steps away from the main landmarks.

Footwear:
Comfort is non-negotiable - there’s a lot of walking involved when shooting across these landmarks! Even if you plan to wear heels for photos, bring trainers or slip-ons to move between locations comfortably.
Outfit recommendations:
You’ll want to look stylish but also feel comfortable and confident. Avoid wearing beige or grey as your main colour, as these tones can blend in with Big Ben’s stonework. Pops of colour look amazing against London’s backdrop. Bring a light jacket, cardigan, or shawl just in case; the weather in London can change quickly, and it often gets breezy near the bridge.
Seasonal tips:
Summer: The best time for those golden, glowing sunrise shots! Early mornings around 6–7am offer incredible light and fewer people.
Autumn, Winter & Spring: The main difference is light levels - days are shorter in winter, so plan your shoot time accordingly. While there’s not much greenery in this area, the architecture remains striking year-round.
